Background

Sarasota changed the Comprehensive Plan to allow Lakewood Ranch to expand from the eastern terminus of University southeast to Fruitville Rd. increasing the density to 5000 homes.

The next Rezone (24-10) for Lakewood Ranch SE comes before the County Commission on May 6, 2025. The first Commission meeting back in February resulted in the Rezone not being passed. This will be a completely new presentation by Lakewood Ranch SE.
